An Example of Continuity

 

On April 10, 2026, a scientific and practical seminar, "Theory and Practice of Olympic Education in General Secondary Education Institutions and Specialized Educational Institutions," was held at the State Educational Institution "V.S. Michurin Secondary School No. 47 of Minsk."

The main goal is research and exchange of experience on current issues in Olympic education, the promotion of Olympic values, the physical and spiritual development of youth, and the development of a healthy lifestyle.

A school-museum, a school-tradition: Since 1977, swimming classes have been developed here. Today, 25 of the 29 classes are specialized in 35 sports. The school combines high-quality education with the preparation of future champions and supports national team athletes (flexible study schedule). Graduates are winners and medalists of the Olympic Games, World Championships, and European Championships.

An important example of continuity: Alesya Anatolyevna Petkevich, a graduate of the school (specialized in swimming), and now the head of physical education at the Minsk State College of Architecture and Construction, took part in the seminar.
